The composition of the federal judiciary is of profound importance to all Americans. The foundation of our democracy depends on the independence of the judicial system and its ability to keep faith with core Constitutional values of liberty, equality and justice for all.
The individuals charged with dispensing justice in our society have a direct impact on civil and human rights, civil liberties, employment rights, the environment, quality and access to health care, a fair and just immigration system, voting rights, and many other important issues. As such, the federal judiciary must be perceived by the public as an instrument of justice, and the individuals who are selected for this branch of government must be the embodiment of fairness and impartiality
The Coalition for Constitutional Values is a project of national and state organizations that work to protect judicial independence by supporting the confirmation of well-qualified, independent, fair-minded judges who place justice ahead of politics by respecting our Constitution and our laws.
Members of the Coalition include:
The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights
National Council of Jewish Women
